„When I visited the teamLab exhibition in Tokyo for the first time, I was completely fascinated. Since then, one thing has been clear to me: I want to bring this to Hamburg, Germany and Europe!“
MISSION
The UBS DIGITAL ART MUSEUM will create one of the most relevant platforms for digital and immersive art in Europe and thus one of the most important presentation venues for these art forms worldwide.
The aim is to make this new genre accessible and tangible for everyone.
The first idea is born
Wouldn't it be great to bring the fascination of teamLab to life in Europe? The idea for the UBS Digital Art Museum is born: In the same year, Lars Hinrichs and the art collective teamLab convince the City of Hamburg of their vision and develop concepts for the structural implementation together with the ECE Group.
The land purchase
The perfect spot at Amerigo-Vespucci-Platz in Hamburg's HafenCity is found and purchased.
The groundbreaking ceremony
The ground-breaking ceremony takes place and intensified work on the fundament and the deep pile foundation begins.
Building construction starts
The foundations have been laid and the construction site is handed over to the general contractor MBN. Building construction is now being driven forward by the construction company MBN.
Start of the shell construction
This phase marks the start of the shell construction process, during which the basic structures of the building are erected.
The shell will be finished
The finishing of the building shell will mark the completion of a major milestone in the construction process: The building site will be ready for the next construction phases, which include the further fit-out and finishing work.
